RE-VISITING THE ISSUE OF AN AFROCENTRIC IDEOLOGY

What is Ideology?

Ideology is a set of opinions or beliefs of a group or an individual. Very often ideology refers to a set of political beliefs or a set of ideas that characterize a particular culture.

Capitalism Communism Socialism and Marxism are Ideologies.

Afrocentric ideology refers to an ideology 

 centered on the cultural beliefs of Africans.

At this stage of development it is pertinent that Africans should come together to generate ideas based on the divergent cultures that will forge a link to unify the continent.

This should be treated with the urgency that it deserves especially now, that the continent is threatened with Spates of insurgency directed at dividing the much-desired unity for the progress of the black race.

The shedding of African blood by African brothers irrespective of religious or tribal background must stop moreso that the weapon of destruction used to achieve these dastardly acts are imported from outside this continent.

When will my fellow African brothers wake up to the reality of the fact that those supplying these weapon are more interested in ensuring that there should be no peace in Africa? Without peace there can be no progress. Without peace, there can be no development. Without peace Africa will continue to maintain its position as the lowest on the rung of the ladder of human progress

Those who are exploiting the continent are contented with continuous bloodshed of Africans by Africans. Nigeria which is one of the leading countries in Africa is now faced with insecurity that is on the verge of breaking up the nation. It is in the best interest of Africa that Nigeria should not breakup.

This is why the government in Nigeria should urgently generate ideas that will douse this smoldering fire that is threatening to burn down the country An Ideology that is built on the principle of UNCONDITIONAL LOVE and sanctity of Human life should be developed as a matter of urgency to stem this spate of bloodshed.

Sociologists, Philosophers, Economists, Professionals, Educationists, Religious Leaders, Traditional Rulers and selected People from all walks of life who have made their mark in society should be gathered to develop an Afrocentric Ideology. Corrupt Politicians and money bags should be excluded.

A UNITED AFRICA should be the target and focus of every country in Africa.
