WHO IS AFRAID OF AMOTEKUN?

The most important responsibility of any government is the security of her citizens.

When the Government at the center is running against the efforts of some states attempting to wade off the threat to the safety of their people, there is a need to query the motives behind this move.

Ideally the Southern states of Ogun, Oyo, Ondo, Ekiti, Lagos and Osun having seen the wanton indiscriminate murder and kidnapping of its citizen, did what was right by coming together to raise a force that will resist and protect them from marauders who are “Suspected” to be infiltrators from the Northern part of the Country.

The birth of “Amotekun” in the south western part of Nigeria is the reactive step taken by the leadership of those six states to protect the lives and properties of their people. Apart from forging and strengthening the unity of these states, notwithstanding the fact that they are not all from the same party, it is worrisome that the party at the centre is raising objections despite the fact that five of the six governors belong to the party.

This shows clearly that the government at the center has an ulterior motive for not taking any serious action on security threat posed by the Marauders from the North.

I salute the courage of the leadership of the Yoruba states for coming together to raise a security force to protect their citizens.

If this present development is not handled with care, I foresee the birth of an Oduduwa Republic and the fragmentation of the nation Nigeria into indigenous independent groups.

I am an apostle of a United States of Africa. The fragmentation of Nigeria will create an obstacle to achieving this dream as our nation is the largest gathering of black Africans all over the world.

A united Nigeria should be the arrowhead and the rallying point for a United Africa. The government at the center should therefore ensure to the best of their ability that they do not jeopardize this dream from coming true by creating obstacles for States that desire to fortify the security of their citizens.

Amotekun – the roaring leopard must be allowed to live.
