PROJECT AFRICA MOVEMENT (4)

 PROJECT AFRICA MOVEMENT (4)

Beloved, in current times there is insecurity in many parts of Nigeria and some other African countries. Taking a closer look reveals that terrorism has gone into another dimension in the everyday life of many countries.

In Nigeria, the security forces of the government at the center have lost control of containing the mayhem in the society. Some say those perpetrating the evil in the country are aliens who found their way into Nigeria through the porous borders of the country. The insecurity is heightened by incessant killing of innocent citizens which is driving the country iñto the edge of another civil war.

Tribal and ethnic agitation for independence as nation states within the polity has gone into another dimension in which policemen are murdered and police stations burnt down especially in the Eastern parts of Nigeria, where some of  the citizens are çlamouring for an independent state of Biafra

The Yorubas in the southwest are equally demanding for a Yoruba nation as a result of the oppression they have been going through in the hands of our Fulani brothers.

The Boko Haram in the Northeast are not letting off as they continue to terrorise the land, killing and kidnapping innocent citizens and slowing down the economy by preventing the mostly farming community from going to work on their farms

The Myetty Allah- bands of Fulani herdsmen also take their toll on society by grazing cattle on other people's farmland and killing, maiming, raping and kidnapping innocent farmers and their families as they go along their destructive paths. The Presidency seems to have given up in a bid to controlling the insecurity and they are seeking assistance from foreign climes to fight the insurgency,.

A closer view will reveal that in many parts of Africa, where there are rebels and terrorists, there is abundance of mineral resources that form the bone of contention. While they are busy fighting each other , foreigners are busy mining albeit illegally.

THE WAY FORWARD

Rather than seeking military help from outside Afriça, warring factions should sit to dialogue in a bid to settle their differences. They should realize that Afriça is so rich that there is enough for everyone if resources are well managed.

In a private sector-led economy, it is not the government that should enforce ranchng rights on the people. Cattle rearers should desist from open grazing and stop destroying other people's farmland

Where there is conflict because of the presence of mineral resources, licence for extraction of mineral resources should be granted to private companies with the proviso that a certain percentage of their profit should be deposited in African Development Bank for the development of various parts of the continent.

Àll those who seek ethnic or tribal independence should be allowed to peacefully have their way. This will create healthy competition amongst all such independent nation's in our strive for rapid development.

In the case of Nigeria, the insecurity and mayhem can be contained by the establishment of  state and local government police forçes to run simultaneously with the Nigerian Police Force. This is because the country is underpoliced according to UN standards

All parties who are in conflict on the continent should in the name of the CREATOR drop their guns and stop the bloodletting. A peaceful environment is required for rapid development , which will encourage our brothers in the Diaspora to consider investing in the motherland. LET US MAKE ÀFRICA GREAT.
