AFRICA; THE WAY FORWARD

AFRICA: THE WAY FORWARD.

Beloved, in our earlier discourse, issues relating to the political terrain, the  political elites and the mindset of Africans were highlighted. We presently want to take a closer look at the ways to tackle these issues.

1.) We Africans have to take our destiny iñ our hands and refrain from heaping the blame of our underdevelopment on our political elites and our former colonizers. This is a necessity for getting rid of the poverty that pervades our continent. To erradicate illiteracy, there should be less emphasis on certificates but only on knowledge based on insight.  Our focus should be on discoveries that will improve our quality of life. We should not expect to be empowered by government but we should focus on knowledge-based self-empowerment às the fundamental secret of empowerment is insight.

There is a need for massive investment in education that is not patterned along the path inherited from our past colonizers. Subsequent to obtaining qualifying certificates, students should be encouraged to massively invest in edifying literature directed at neutralizing the negative mindset inherited from our past colonial masters thereby portraying the black man in a positive light. A concerted effort at breaking the myth that"if you want to keep àny information from a black man, hide it in a book"should be made.

2.) An urgent need to activate the African Continental Free Trade Agreement accompanied by a common PanAfrican currency (The AFRO), to counteract the situation in which we continue to use the currency of our former colonizers as a standard of exchange for trade negotiations is paramount. This will bring about an integration of African economies.

3.) African nations have to unite to take control of the African airspace. This will enable us to break the barrier that neccetitates us to first travel by air to Europe enroute some neighboring African countries.

4.) The strength of Africa is in the Diaspora. Unfortunately our brothers in the Diaspora do not understand the complexity of the African problem by their expecting our leaders to bring about change.

There are very few of the leaders who are visionary enough to understand and champion the wishes and aspirations of the people.

The best brains of the continent are in the diaspora. For example there are more Nigerian medical doctors in New York City than in Nigeria and more Ghanaian doctors in Los Angeles than in the whole of Ghana. What we have on the continent is capacity problem.

It is suggested that African leaders should unite and divide the continent into seven regions and create industrial hubs in each region to take care of the technical needs of the continent. Our brothers in the Diaspora should be invited to settle in these seven hubs in a bid to fill up the capacity needs of the continent.

A FREE AND UNITED AFRICA is required for all the above suggestions to be practicable. This we can achieve NOW with faith in The CREATOR if all Africañs put their minds to it.

WHERE THERE IS A WILL THERE'S ALWAYS A WAY
